Will there be camps in 2021?

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be offering group camps and private lessons this summer. Camp dates and times can be found on our camp registration page. For more information about private lessons visit: https://www.whiterockskimboarding.com/private-lessons/

Where do we meet?

You will be forwarded a Welcome Document before your camp commences that will include a map and meeting point information. Our skimming location is located at the furthest eastern point on East Beach in front of Semiahmoo Park.  Parking is available off of Marine Drive.  Due to changes in tidal patterns we are no longer beside the big white rock near the pier. Look for our white tent – it will be on a sandy patch of the beach.

What happens if it rains?

Skimboarding is actually quite fun in the rain as long as it is not windy. Wind is what really kills the spirits so in that case usually the camp will be shortened, but it all depends on how bad the weather actually is.

Do I need to bring my own board?

If you do not have a board, one can be rented for $5 per day.   We also have limited edition White Rock Skimboarding boards for sale for $90.  Click here for more information.

Do I pay online or at the beach?

You can reserve a spot in a camp by booking and paying online.   If you do not have a credit card we will accept advance payment by cheque.    We accept payments for board rentals and board purchases at the beach, but all camps need to be pre-booked.  Due to space limitations there are no guarantees for walk up traffic.  We have a Business License with the City of White Rock and approval to conduct lessons and rentals at an assigned location (currently at the eastern end of East Beach.)

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 2 weeks notice to cancel.  No refunds will be given to those who do not submit their cancellation request less than 2 weeks before the start of camp.

I didn’t order a camp T-shirt, can I buy one at the camp?

Yes, there are a limited number of souvenir camp t-shirts that will be on sale at our tent.  White Rock Skimboarding t-shirts are $20.  WRS limited edition skimboards are also available for purchase.  Visit our Buy Skimboard page for additional information.

Do I have to sign a Waiver?

Yes. Skimboarding is a water sport and there are inherent dangers being in tidal waters. Skimboarding is an activity that is likely to involve spills. While we take every precaution to ensure a safe environment, we are not liable for any injuries you may sustain in a fall and/or possible collision.

How big are the camps?

Camps groups can be up to twenty in number.  The maximum ratio of students to instructors is 10 – 1.
